2. Using the site
You do not need an account to read our articles. When using the site, you agree to comply with applicable law and to refrain from:
- Harming the site, our servers or other users, or attempting to circumvent security measures,
- Scraping our content in bulk with automated tools, or compiling it to train artificial intelligence models (crawling by search engines that respects our robots.txt is excepted),
- Impersonating another person or creating fake accounts,
- Placing an excessive or abnormal load on the service.
3. Reader accounts
A free reader account is required to comment and to like articles. When you register:
- You must be at least 18 years old,
- You must provide accurate, current information,
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account.
You may ask us to close your account at any time by writing to kontak@longevitymagazine.com.tr. We may suspend or close an account in cases of serious or repeated breach of these terms; where possible, we will tell you why.
4. Comments and reader contributions
The comment section exists for thinking and arguing about what we publish. We will not publish comments containing insults, threats, hate speech or discrimination; disclosures of private life; advertising or spam; copyrighted text reproduced without permission; or unsupported health claims and promises of cure.
Comments are reviewed before publication. We reserve the right not to publish, to remove or to shorten a comment. This is not censorship; it is how the quality of the discussion is kept.
You are responsible for what you write. By submitting a comment you grant us a free, perpetual, worldwide licence to publish, reproduce and, where necessary, shorten it on the site and in promotion of the magazine. The comment remains yours, and you stay free to use it elsewhere.
5. Important notice about health content
This magazine practises science journalism. It does not give medical advice. Articles, interviews, study summaries, and nutrition or exercise suggestions on this site and in the magazine are for information only.
- They are not a substitute for examination, diagnosis or treatment by a physician.
- Consult your doctor before changing your diet, your medication or supplements, or your exercise programme.
- Never stop a medication or change its dose because of something you read here.
- Science moves; findings change. An article reflects what was known on the day it was published.
- In an emergency in Türkiye, call 112; elsewhere, call your local emergency number.
Views expressed in interviews and guest contributions belong to the person speaking and should not be read as the magazine’s position.
6. Intellectual property
The articles, photographs, illustrations, design, logo and trademarks on this site and in the magazine belong to the Publisher or to the respective authors, and are protected under Turkish Law no. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works.
You are free to: read our articles, print them for personal use, share them on social networks, quote briefly with attribution and a link in your own reporting or writing, and use our RSS feed in a personal reader.
You need our permission to: republish an article in whole or in substantial part elsewhere, reproduce content commercially, translate or adapt it, use images outside their context, or compile our content to train artificial intelligence models. Write to kontak@longevitymagazine.com.tr for permission.
7. Advertising and sponsored content
Part of what it costs to publish is met by advertising. Advertisements, sponsored content and advertorials are clearly marked: making it obvious to the reader what is advertising is an editorial principle here. Commercial relationships do not influence editorial decisions.
Responsibility for an advertiser’s products or services lies with the advertiser. The presence of a brand on our site is not an endorsement of it.
8. Newsletter
Subscribing is optional. You can unsubscribe using the link at the foot of every email: the link opens a confirmation page, and one press of the button there is enough. You can also unsubscribe by writing to us. See the Privacy Policy for details.
9. Print edition and subscriptions
Print copies and subscriptions are currently arranged through the Contact page; there is no online sale on this site. If online sales open, the terms of distance selling and the right of withdrawal will be published separately.
10. Links and embedded content
We link to other sites and occasionally embed YouTube videos. That content is not ours; we are not responsible for its availability, accuracy or privacy practices. Embedded videos do not load until you press play.
11. Availability of the service
We do our best to keep the site running without interruption or error, but maintenance, technical failure or causes outside our control may interrupt it. We may change or remove sections, features and content without prior notice. When we take down a published article or substantially correct one, we take care to note this on the article itself.
12. Limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is”. The Publisher does not warrant that the site will run without interruption or that content will always be complete and current. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the site.
This limitation does not cover damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, violations of personality rights, or mandatory provisions of consumer law.
13. Corrections, right of reply and complaints
If you believe we have published something inaccurate, tell us: we will examine the claim, correct any error, and mark the correction visibly. If you believe content infringes your personality rights, you may submit a request under Turkish Law no. 5651 and the Press Law no. 5187 to kontak@longevitymagazine.com.tr. We assess such requests without delay.
14. Your personal data
How we process your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, and how we use cookies in the Cookie Policy. Both form an integral part of these terms.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page and the date above changes. We will announce material changes on the site and in our newsletter.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Turkish law. The Courts and Enforcement Offices of Antalya, Türkiye shall have jurisdiction. If you are acting as a consumer, the rights granted to you by consumer legislation, and your ability to apply to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court where you live, are reserved.
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This is our privacy policy and the disclosure notice required under Turkish Law no. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”). It explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.
In short: you do not have to give us anything to read our articles. Data is collected only when you do something — subscribe to the newsletter, send us a message, or create an account.
1. Data controller
The data controller is DKC İLETİŞİM SANATLARI TİC LTD ŞTİ, publisher of longevitymagazine.com.tr.
- Address: Çağlayan Mh. 2009 Sk. No: 35/1, Muratpaşa / Antalya / Türkiye
- MERSIS no: 0302096081100001 — Tax office / no: Mevlana Vergi Dairesi, 3020960811
- General enquiries: kontak@longevitymagazine.com.tr
- Data protection requests: hello@longevitymagazine.com.tr
2.1. Newsletter subscription
- Data processed: your email address, your name if you give one, the page you subscribed from, your language preference, your IP address, and the times of your confirmation and unsubscription.
- Purpose: to tell you when a new issue is out and to send you selected articles; to keep a record of your consent.
- Legal basis: your explicit consent (KVKK art. 5/1) and your permission under Law no. 6563. The IP and timestamp are kept because we are legally required to be able to prove that consent (KVKK art. 5/2-ç).
- How it is sent: the newsletter goes out through DKC Click, our own sending infrastructure running on our own server. Your address is not handed to a marketing platform. We do not measure whether you opened the email or which link you clicked; we use neither the invisible pixels nor the redirect links that do that.
- Note: you can unsubscribe from the link at the foot of every email; the link opens a confirmation page, and one press of the button there is enough. When you do, your address is removed from the list and we keep only the minimum record needed to make sure nothing is sent to it again.
2.2. Messages sent through the contact form
- Data processed: your name, email address, subject, message, IP address and language preference.
- Purpose: to answer you and follow up your request; to assess advertising and partnership enquiries.
- Legal basis: processing necessary to fulfil your request, and our legitimate interest (KVKK art. 5/2-c and 5/2-f).
- Note: please do not write about your health condition in the form. Health data is a special category of personal data, and the contact form is not designed for it.
2.3. Reader accounts
- Data processed: your name, email address, an irreversible hash of your password, and optionally your profile picture, short biography and social media addresses.
- Purpose: to create and manage your account, provide commenting and liking, and maintain security.
- Legal basis: formation and performance of the user agreement between us (KVKK art. 5/2-c).
- Note: your password is never stored in plain text; only a hash is kept, and nobody — including us — can read it. What you put in your profile, and your comments, are public.
2.4. Comments and likes
- Data processed: the text of your comment, its link to your account, which articles you liked, and timestamps.
- Purpose: to publish the comment, moderate it, and display like counts.
- Legal basis: performance of the agreement and legitimate interest (KVKK art. 5/2-c and 5/2-f).
2.5. Server logs and security
- Data processed: your IP address, request time, requested address, browser and operating system information.
- Purpose: keeping the site working and secure, detecting abuse and attacks, and meeting the traffic-record obligation under Turkish Law no. 5651.
- Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interest (KVKK art. 5/2-ç and 5/2-f).
2.6. Bot protection
We use no external verification service to protect the contact form from automated spam. The protection runs entirely on our own server: the form contains a hidden field a person never sees (if a bot fills it, the request is silently rejected) and the number of requests from one address is limited. The only data processed in doing so is your IP address, which the server logs hold anyway. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (KVKK art. 5/2-f).
2.7. Read counter
We keep a single total of how many times each article has been read. So that one visit is not counted twice, the identifiers of articles you opened are held in your browser session. The counter is not linked to individuals; we keep no record of who read what.
2.8. Writers and staff
For our editorial team and contributing writers we process names, titles, contact details, biographies and, where applicable, records relating to fee payments, as required by contract and legislation (KVKK art. 5/2-c and 5/2-ç).
3. How we collect data
We collect data directly from you, through the forms and account actions on the site, and server logs automatically. We do not buy data about you from other companies and we do not obtain lists from data brokers.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing. Access is limited to what the service requires, by the following parties:
- İsim Tescil (Türkiye) — our hosting provider: server and database infrastructure.
- Google — serving Google AdSense advertisements, once ad slots are switched on. See the Cookie Policy.
- YouTube (Google) — when you play an embedded video.
- Competent public authorities — only where we are legally obliged, and after examining the basis of the request.
The newsletter list is not on that list. Your email address is not passed to a marketing platform: the newsletter is sent from DKC Click, our own sending infrastructure running on our own server. Your address stays with us from beginning to end.
5. Transfers abroad
The site’s server and database are in Türkiye: your account, your comments, the messages you send us and the newsletter list are all held in Türkiye, and the newsletter is sent from there too.
At present no personal data is transferred abroad at all. Server, database, newsletter delivery and advertising banners are all in Türkiye. Even the typefaces are served from our own server; your browser makes no outside request when a page loads.
Two things could involve a transfer: switching on Google AdSense ad slots, and embedding a YouTube video in an article (the video loads only when you press play). If either happens, this text is updated and the transfer is made in accordance with KVKK art. 9, relying on an adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards such as an undertaking or standard contractual clauses notified to the Authority, or the exceptions set out in the law.
6. How long we keep it
- Newsletter record: for as long as your subscription lasts. Your name and IP address are deleted the moment you unsubscribe; all that remains is the minimum entry that prevents further messages, and that is deleted after 3 years.
- Unconfirmed subscriptions: if the confirmation link is not clicked within 30 days, the record is deleted in full.
- Contact form messages: 2 years after they reach us; where a legal dispute arises, until it is concluded.
- Reader account: for as long as the account is open. When we close it, your profile data is deleted; on request, your comments are deleted or anonymised so that no author is shown.
- Server and traffic logs: for the period required by law; for traffic data under Law no. 5651, at least 1 year.
- Financial and commercial records (advertising and subscription contracts): 10 years, as required by tax and commercial legislation.
Once the period ends, data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
7. How we protect your data
- The site and the admin panel run over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) end to end.
- Passwords are stored only as irreversible hashes.
- Access to the admin panel is role-based: each team member sees and edits only the areas their work requires.
- Software dependencies are kept current and the database is backed up regularly.
- Forms are protected against spam and automated requests.
In the event of a data breach we notify the Personal Data Protection Board and the affected individuals without delay, as KVKK requires.
8. Your rights (KVKK art. 11)
As a data subject you may apply to us to exercise the following rights:
- To learn whether your personal data is processed,
- To request information if it has been processed,
- To learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly,
- To know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom the data is transferred,
- To request correction if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
- To request erasure or destruction within the conditions set out in the law,
- To request that correction, erasure and destruction be notified to the third parties the data was transferred to,
- To object to an adverse outcome reached solely by automated analysis,
- To claim compensation for damage suffered as a result of unlawful processing.
How to apply. Under the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, you may apply in writing to our registered address, or by email from the address registered in our system to hello@longevitymagazine.com.tr. We conclude applications free of charge within 30 days at the latest. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board.
9. Children’s data
The site is not directed at users under 18, and registration requires you to be 18 or older. If we learn that we hold data on someone under 18 collected without their knowledge, we delete the record without delay.
10. Cookies
How we use cookies and similar technologies is set out in detail in the Cookie Policy.
11. Visitors from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom
The magazine is published in Türkiye and your data is processed in Türkiye. To the extent the GDPR applies, you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection through the same contact addresses. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before then.
12. Changes
We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The current version is always on this page and the date above changes with it. For material changes we post a notice on the site and email newsletter subscribers.
Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use at longevitymagazine.com.tr, why we use them, and how you can manage them. It complements the Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file saved in your browser when you visit a site. Your browser sends it back with later requests, so the site “recognises” you for the duration of that session. We also use local storage, which works similarly: a small record kept in your browser, but not sent to the server.
2. What we use them for
In short: to run the site, keep it secure, and remember your preferences. We do not use any analytics tool that tracks visitors or builds profiles; there is no Google Analytics or equivalent measurement software on this site.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
The site does not work without these: you could not sign in, comment, or submit a form. They are therefore not subject to consent.
- the-longevity-show-magazine-session — identifies your session; carries who you are once signed in, which articles you opened during the session, and form state. Lifetime: 120 minutes.
- XSRF-TOKEN — verifies that a form submission really came from you; protects against cross-site request forgery. Lifetime: 120 minutes.
- remember_web_… — created only if you tick “remember me” at sign-in; keeps you signed in after you close and reopen your browser. Lifetime: 5 years. If you do not tick the box, this cookie is never created. It is deleted when you sign out.
- cerez_izni — records whether you allowed the advertising cookies below; it holds “kabul” (accept) or “red” (reject) and nothing else. Without it we would have to ask you again on every page. Lifetime: 1 year.
4. Preference storage
- tema (local storage) — stores whether you chose the light or dark appearance, so the page opens the way you left it. It is not sent to the server and stays in your browser until you clear it.
5. Security and bot verification
Protecting the message form on the Contact page against automated spam uses no cookies at all and calls no outside verification service. The protection is server-side: the form contains a hidden field a person never sees, and the number of requests from one address is limited. Nothing is written to your browser for this.
6. Advertising cookies
Part of the cost of publishing is met by advertising. Once Google AdSense slots are switched on, Google and its partners use cookies to serve advertisements, cap how often you see them, and measure them. The ones you are most likely to encounter:
- __gads, __gpi — ad serving and frequency capping. Lifetime: up to 13 months.
- IDE, test_cookie (doubleclick.net) — ad measurement and browser compatibility check. Lifetime: up to 13 months.
These are not strictly necessary and are placed only with your explicit consent. If you choose “Only what is necessary” in the banner shown on your first visit, Google’s advertising script is never loaded — not blocked, not even downloaded. To change your mind later, the Cookie preferences link at the foot of the page reopens the banner.
You may still see advertising after declining: banners sold directly to us are served from our own server, set no cookies and do not track you.
If you would rather advertisements were not tailored to you, you can turn off personalised advertising in your Google account’s Ad Settings; you will still see advertisements, but they will not be chosen by your interests.
7. Embedded content
Some articles include a YouTube video. These videos do not load until you press play: on page load, YouTube’s scripts do not run and its cookies are not set. When you start the video, the content comes from youtube-nocookie.com, which limits personalisation cookies — though from the moment you start watching, Google’s own policies also apply.
Even if you never start the video, its thumbnail is fetched from a Google server (i.ytimg.com). That request discloses your IP address to Google; no cookie is set.
8. How to manage cookies
Your browser settings let you view cookies, delete them individually or all at once, and block new ones. In most browsers the relevant section is under Settings → Privacy and security.
Do so knowing that if you block strictly necessary cookies you will not be able to sign in, comment, or use the message form — those cookies are part of how the site works.
9. Changes
We update this list as the tools we use change. The current version is always on this page and the date above changes with it.
